Pandora administrator reports four water‑main repairs, higher‑cost salt purchase and upcoming well maintenance

Village Administrator Rick Morrison reported at the Feb. 11 meeting that village water‑department staff "Joseph and Brandon have repaired 4 water main breaks this season" and that they are trying to locate an additional leak in the system. Morrison said the village's new locating and correlating equipment has been useful in pinpointing breaks.
Morrison told council that the village used its remaining stock of old road salt sooner than expected and ordered an emergency shipment of 25 tons at a price higher than the contract rate; the minutes state the salt has been delivered. He did not provide the dollar amount of the higher price in the minutes.
On wells, Morrison said he returned a signed quote to Moody's of Dayton to perform preventative maintenance and flow testing on wells 1 and 3 and that the vendor will schedule the work. He also reported that the heater in the village administrator's garage area is working after Joseph replaced the circuit board, and that the village has obtained quotes for sidewalk replacement and disc‑golf pads but recorded no contract awards.
Morrison also updated council on an intermunicipal brush‑disposal arrangement: he said Ottawa's village council is no longer favorable to accepting Pandora's brush because of the grinding expense and asked whether Pandora would pay a fair share; Ottawa will reconsider the matter at an upcoming Ottawa council meeting, according to the minutes.
