The River Ridge Community Development District accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) on Aug. 27, 2024, and directed management to solicit candidates to fill the unexpired term.
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. Board members discussed that Mr. Gilman represented The Meadows and said management would ask Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property‑owners association manager to e‑blast residents about the vacancy, qualification requirements and to request resumes or letters of interest before the next meeting. Because the appointment fills a board seat rather than creating a new elected position, the board sought candidate outreach rather than an election. On motion by Kurt Blumenthal, assistant secretary, and seconded by Robert Twombly, assistant secretary, the board accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation unanimously.
The administration of the oath of office and provision of required ethics training and disclosure filing materials (Form 1, Form 8B, Sunshine Amendment guidance) were deferred and will be provided in a future board packet. The board asked staff to include candidate submissions on the next agenda for formal appointment consideration.
