At its Nov. 19 meeting, Glassport Borough Council approved the treasurer's monthly report and voted to pay October bills across borough funds.
On a motion by Angelo Norelli, seconded by Meghan DeVerse, council approved payment of General Fund bills for October totaling $659,098.65. Council also approved payment of Sewer Revenue Fund bills for October totaling $495,587.35; both payments were recorded as carried by unanimous roll call (Yes 6, No 0, Absent 1).
Solicitor Falco Muscante presented and council adopted two resolutions under the Vacant Property Recovery Program approving the acquisition of Parcel No. 558-H-055 and Parcel No. 558-H-049 to Harold Case. Both resolutions were adopted on unanimous recorded votes.
Council approved listing 102 Seventh Street with Neighborhood Realty Services after previous advertisements produced no bids. Council also approved modest community donations ($100 each) to Glassport Lanes for youth bowling and to the South Allegheny boys basketball team.
During announcements and public comment, council reminded residents of the Nov. 30 Christmas Parade and a Dec. 5 Steel Rivers COG Holiday Dinner RSVP deadline. Residents raised issues including a request to place a dumpster between three single-family houses (council cited an ordinance requiring borough garbage pickup for single-family dwellings), questions about a proposed basketball court, a pending code-enforcement action at 1010 Vermont (a 30-day notice that expires Nov. 22), and missed recycling/garbage pickup at 1031 Indiana Avenue.
Council adjourned after the public-comment period.
