Solicitor Falco Muscante reported two sealed bids for the 2000 F250: Original Tree Service bid $1,152 and Paul’s Auto bid $500. Council voted 5–0 to award the vehicle to Original Tree Service and adopted Resolution No. 9 (10/15/24) authorizing the sale.
Separately, the council voted to advertise the sale of 102 Seventh Street. The minutes show an advertisement placed in the Mon Valley Independent on Sept. 28 with bids due Oct. 8; no bids were received in that round, prompting council to authorize a new advertisement for sale.
Why it matters: Disposing of surplus vehicles and property can return revenue to the borough or reduce maintenance liabilities. The council’s actions formalize the sales process; the awarded vehicle sale is complete pending administrative closing procedures, and the property remains on the market for a new bid cycle.
