At its Oct. 15 meeting, Glassport Borough Council approved a decision to allow additional installment payment options for real-estate taxes, permitting property owners to pay in either three or four installments rather than the prior schedule.
Council President Anthony Colecchi said the borough will examine the new due dates and make residents aware of the available options once details are finalized. Borough Manager and Treasurer Elaina Skiba indicated the administration will work on implementation and public notification.
Why it matters: Changing installment options affects taxpayers’ cash flow and administrative processing. Council did not set final due dates or adopt an ordinance at the Oct. 15 meeting; the change was announced as a policy decision pending specifics.
Next steps: Borough staff will determine due dates and procedures and then provide public notice to taxpayers.
