Calhoun County officials and lakeshore property owners discussed a proposed easement on the west side of North Twin Lakes at the Board of Supervisors’ Sept. 23 meeting in Rockwell City. County Attorney Ben Smith and Calhoun/Sac County Engineer Nick Buse met with adjacent landowners Rich and Theresa Roske and Mike and Jane Spencer to consider setting a 10‑foot or 5‑foot easement; the Board made no decision.
Chairman Dave George stated he felt a 5‑foot easement would be sufficient; Supervisor Cory Ridgely agreed. Supervisor Scott Jacobs said he would defer to the county engineer’s advice. Jacobs also asked that it be noted Dave George should abstain from voting on the matter because of a potential conflict of interest. No formal motion or vote on the easement was recorded in the minutes.
