Calhoun County supervisors approve personnel pay step, event permit and drainage payment; hold teleconference on joint drainage district

The Calhoun County Board of Supervisors met Aug. 19 in Rockwell City with Dave George, Cory Ridgely and Scott Jacobs present and completed routine county business including personnel, drainage and community-use approvals.
The board approved a pay-step increase for Danielle Moore, moving her from PC4 to PC5 effective July 26, 2025. The motion was made by Scott Jacobs and seconded by Cory Ridgely; the minutes record "Ayes all" and the motion carried.
The supervisors also approved use of the Calhoun County Courthouse grounds on Aug. 28 from 6–8 p.m. for Cub Scout Pack 94. That motion was moved by Ridgely and seconded by Jacobs and carried by unanimous vote.
On drainage matters the board authorized payment of an invoice from Wieston Ag Service for Drainage District (DD) #120. The motion to approve the invoice was moved by Jacobs, seconded by Ridgely, and carried with unanimous assent.
At 10:00 a.m. the board conducted a teleconference with Sac and Buena Vista counties to consider approval of a Joint Drainage District identified in the record as Calhoun 92, Buena Vista 30 and Sac 16, and to discuss watchman services and a Memorandum of Understanding. The minutes direct readers to the Auditor's Office for full details of that teleconference.
The board read and approved the minutes from its previous meeting and recorded that no members of the public were present for public comment. The meeting adjourned following a motion by Ridgely, seconded by Jacobs. The next regular meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
