Commissioners review voting-booth trial, schedule canvass and plan testimony on HB 272

Denise Horsley presented a new voting booth to the board on March 11 and said one booth will be set up at the Soda Springs precinct for the March 12 election so voters and election workers can try it before the county purchases booths for each precinct.
The board set March 14, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. as the date to canvas votes from the March 12 election. Commissioners also discussed a Bonneville Power Administration public meeting in Caribou County (with Doug Wood to read the EIS report) and Commissioner Mark Mathews mentioned the Idaho Sesquicentennial essay contest, requesting Caribou County pay $75 prizes per school; more information was to follow.
Commissioner Earl Somsen and Aaron Cook are scheduled to travel to Boise to testify on HB 272 on March 12; Trent Clark invited county leaders to a meeting at Cedar View on March 25 at 6:00 p.m.
