The College Station ISD Board voted 6-0 to affirm the administration’s decision on a level-three parent grievance after returning to open session at 5:50 p.m.
Board member Ms. Adams moved “that we affirm the administration's decision on the grievance,” and Board member Ms. Simmon seconded the motion. The board chair then called the vote; the motion passed 6 to 0.
The grievance was heard in closed session earlier under Texas Government Code sections 551.0821, 551.074, 551.071 and 551.129, the board said when it recessed into closed session at about 5:02 p.m. After the public reconvening the board completed deliberations and took the recorded action to affirm the administration’s decision.
Following the vote the chair thanked Mr. Grimes and Ms. Grande for their work related to the matter and said the hearing was concluded. The board did not disclose deliberations that occurred during the closed session; the public action recorded was the board's 6-0 affirmation of the administration's decision.
