Parkway Local board approves multiple 2025–26 personnel contracts and a 3.5% administrative pay increase
Summary

The Parkway Local Board of Education at its July 9 meeting approved multiple personnel actions for the 2025–26 school year and authorized a 3.5% salary increase for administrative contracts.
Under RESOLUTION NO. 2507003 the board approved superintendent consent items that included 2025–26 student book fees, designation of preschool administration and supervisors (Shelby Muhlenkamp as secretary and Jennifer Armstrong as financial secretary), one-year preschool teacher and aide contracts (Joni Piper and Jennifer Armstrong), extended service-day allocations for several staff (for example, up to 60 combined days for vocational agriculture), and a series of one-year contracts and hires for teacher’s aides and staff. The board also accepted resignations from Coty French (full-time substitute teacher), Kylee Welker (teacher’s aide), Cooper Talowsky (teacher) and Wes Horstman (volleyball varsity assistant coach). The motion to approve these consent items carried 5–0.
The board adjourned to executive session pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22 "for the express purpose of discussing the compensation of personnel," entering at 6:25 p.m. and returning to open session at 7:02 p.m. After the executive session the board approved administrative contracts (RESOLUTION NO. 2507005) effective for the 2025–26 school year for the following administrators with a 3.5% salary increase: Treasurer Debra Pierce; High School Principal Brian Fortkamp; Middle School Principal Matthew Triplett; Elementary Principal Tracy Trogdlon; Assistant Principal Zachary Bates; Maintenance Supervisor Mike Jones; Technology Director Sam Gudorf; Special Education Director Ryan Thompson; and Athletic Director Teri Samples. The motion passed 5–0.
Why it matters: the personnel approvals set staffing and supervisory assignments for the district’s coming school year, and the administrative pay increase adjusts compensation for senior staff. The minutes note that supplemental contracts are contingent upon satisfactory background checks and required certification and are nonrenewed automatically at the end of the respective school year.
The meeting record shows unanimous votes on the personnel actions and the administrative contract approvals. The board adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
