Members noted the submeter installation aligns with a previously discussed P3 submeter project; the village intends to track EMS building power usage separately and bill EMS where appropriate once meters are in place. Staff said the utility company will remove old transformers and equipment as part of the larger replacement project, reducing the village’s hardware burden if that work proceeds.
Next steps: staff will issue purchase orders and coordinate with contractors and engineers to install CT meters and complete interior electrical work; council asked staff to return with firm numbers for any larger bond or grant-funded replacement for the front building and substation upgrades.
