Florence approves emergency pump‑station repair and moves ahead on sewer projects and contracts

On the Hwy. 49 Eagle Post Road Sanitary Sewer Additions Phase II project the board approved Pay Request #7 to Hemphill Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $12,900.20; Alderman Mason Herrin did not participate in that recorded vote. The board further authorized Mayor Trey Gunn to execute a contract with Thornton Construction Company, Inc. for the Phase III project, pending review and approval of contract documents by the city attorney. The authorization passed on recorded roll call (Herrin did not participate in that vote).
These motions were framed as operational and contractual authorizations; the board recorded votes and roll calls for several items. No formal changes to rates or user assessments were made during the meeting.
