Chief Steve Justice introduced newly hired police officer David Priebe and Mayor Dunphy administered the oath of office during the May 19 meeting.
Chief Justice (Steve Justice) also updated council on two animal-control incidents: on May 17 an unleashed dog on Englewood Drive bit another dog and the owner was cited for having a dog at large; a separate incident on Kent Road likewise resulted in a citation for the owner. Council took no additional formal action at the meeting beyond recording the incidents.
The council gave the new officer an official welcome and recorded the swearing-in in the meeting minutes.
