Mayor Darwn Dunphy presents historical packet on Chautauqua Drive, plans mitigation talks with neighboring cities

Mayor Dawn Dunphy told council she compiled and distributed binders containing the development history, original and current flood maps, service records and prior engineering studies for Chautauqua Drive and said an identical packet will be delivered to the homeowners there.
Dunphy said the next step is to pursue discussions with the Cities of Stow and Munroe Falls about mitigation options but that the Village will not produce engineering proposals at this time. Law Director Patricia Ambrose Rubright attested in council that the documents in the binder reflect factual historical information.
Council members thanked the mayor for preparing the materials; Mr. DiCaudo specifically expressed appreciation for the distributed binders. The minutes record that these materials will inform further coordination with neighboring municipalities about possible mitigation efforts.
What’s next: The mayor announced a "State of the Village" on April 7, 2025; officials indicated they will continue discussions and provide homeowners with the binder information in the near term.
