Council hears update on MGM settlement payment, reminds residents of trick-or-treat and logs solicitor concern

Council member Renell Noack asked for an update on an additional MGM property-tax payment related to a settlement with the Nordonia Hills School District. Finance Director/Clerk of Council Jennifer Potvin said the Village has not received any additional funds relating to the settlement and that she possesses only an unsigned copy of the agreement; Law Director Brad Bryan said he and Potvin discussed the matter earlier in the week and that more information will be provided once obtained.
Mayor Jennifer Domzalski reminded residents that village Trick-or-Treat is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. and that the Police Station Party will be held that evening; she noted Halloween banners have been installed and thanked Chris Cordino for expediting the banners. She also reported that Christmas bulb decorations (12,000 pounds) have arrived in Cleveland and were scheduled for delivery on Friday.
Council member Gary Vojtush thanked colleagues for condolences on a recent family bereavement and reported the birth of his third grandchild. Vojtush also said K-Guard/Dun Rite Roofing is soliciting in the village and that he does not believe the company has a solicitation permit; no formal action was taken during the meeting on the solicitation claim.
A motion to adjourn by Council member Alan Hipps, seconded by Kevin Lewis, passed by roll call and the meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
