HOBART CITY — The Common Council has adopted Ordinance 2026-10 to provide paid parental leave to all full-time city employees, the Park Board was told at its May 11 meeting.
Council Representative Mr. Rodriquez reported the ordinance grants six weeks of paid leave to the birthing parent and three weeks to the non-birthing parent for full-time city employees. The Park Board minutes record the passage of Ordinance 2026-10 but do not include the council roll-call vote in the Park Board summary.
City officials will implement the ordinance according to municipal personnel procedures; the Park Board did not take separate action on employee benefits at the May 11 session.
