Cedarwood Elementary honored and board recognizes Dreams on Horseback partnership

The Columbus City Schools board formally recognized Cedarwood Elementary as an Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators Hall of Fame school and unanimously approved a resolution celebrating the district’s partnership with Dreams on Horseback.
Patty Cooper, director of communications for the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators, and Dr. Andrew Smith (principal, Valley Forge Elementary) presented the Hall of Fame recognition and praised Cedarwood’s community partnerships and student-centered programs. Rodney Johnson, Cedarwood’s principal, accepted the recognition on behalf of his staff.
The board then passed a resolution honoring Dreams on Horseback and its executive director, Jennifer Hansen, for providing equine-assisted learning that the resolution said serves more than 3,500 individuals annually through two facilities. The motion was seconded and approved on voice/roll call; board members present voted yes.
The board took a brief photo opportunity after the recognition and thanked program leadership for the partnership that district leaders said supports student social-emotional learning and classroom readiness.
