Resident proposes skate park; council asks for funding research

Council members responded that the Village would likely need grant funding or private contributions to build such a facility. Mayor Jennifer Domzalski asked Mr. Sheltraw, Councilmember Jesse Ferko and Councilmember Kevin Lewis to work together to identify grant opportunities, funding sources and projected construction and maintenance costs and to report back to council.
No formal motion to commit Village funds for construction was made at the meeting; council directed initial exploration rather than immediate financial commitment. Any future request for Village funding or a formal project proposal would come back to council for consideration and, if needed, formal appropriation or grant-matching decisions.
