The North Haven Select Board completed a series of routine but consequential votes on March 19, approving municipal appointments, several finance and administrative items and policies.
Appointments and administrative items: The board used a blanket vote to approve the slate of municipal appointments presented on the consent agenda. The board also adopted updated job descriptions for several town roles and clarified that Kylie Curtis’ title will be recorded as Sewer and Water Clerk.
Finance and procurement: The board reviewed tax‑anticipation note (TAN) bids and approved accepting Camden National’s bid at 5.66% for short‑term borrowing. The board also approved transferring $3,000 from the Mullen’s Head Reserve to the Solid Waste Reserve to purchase a tractor requested by the Mullen’s Head Park Commission.
Grants and applications: The board authorized the Town Administrator to sign NBRC (Northern Border Regional Commission) resolution documents required to submit a formal application after a favorable pre‑application.
Safety and personnel policy: The board adopted a new accident/incident/near‑miss reporting policy and forms adapted from municipal templates; staff will place the forms in facility binders and make them available in field locations where incidents might occur.
Next steps: Staff will circulate executed appointment documents, finalize the TAN paperwork, track the NBRC application timeline and integrate the new job descriptions and safety forms into departmental procedures.
