The East Cleveland City School District board approved several personnel actions June 30, including appointments, leaves and compensation tied to summative evaluations.
Superintendent Dr. Pedigrew and HR director Paula Elder introduced incoming school leaders: an appointee listed as "Andoril" was introduced to lead Kirk Middle School coming from Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s Campus International, and Nicole (Lola) Mosley introduced herself as a new assistant principal (previously an assistant principal at Garfield). The board moved and approved the appointments.
Trustees also approved a listed classified employee resignation, a medical-leave request and a professional-leave request after brief procedural clarification about agenda labeling. Later in the meeting, Mary Sanders, chair of the welfare and public relations committee, presented a motion to approve a one-year contract for the treasurer effective Aug. 1, 2025, through July 31, 2026; the board approved the treasurer contract.
The board reviewed summative evaluations and approved performance compensation for the CEO/superintendent and the CFO/treasurer. The meeting recorded that the summative evaluation vote for the superintendent passed with four yes votes and one abstention; the superintendent’s performance compensation was listed as the contracted amount of $10,000 and the CFO/treasurer’s performance compensation was listed at $7,000. Trustees asked for clarity on contract amounts and confirmed the figures during the motions.
Several trustees offered brief closing comments recognizing student accomplishments and community partnerships; the board then moved to adjourn.
