The Rittman Board of Education on Sept. 10, 2025 approved a resolution under HB487 waiving the district’s requirement to provide career-technical education for students enrolled in grades seven and eight for the 2025–2026 school year, citing the statutory allowance in Section 33313.90 as listed in the minutes.
The Superintendent’s consent agenda, moved by Mr. Beltz and seconded by Mr. Baillis, also included personnel actions: acceptance of a resignation from Jackie Elkins (Classified) effective Dec. 31, 2025; approval of a two-year contract for Cole Miller (Classified) as Athletic Trainer pending proper certification; and approval of a long list of supplemental positions for the 2025–2026 school year (including HS Band Assistant JoAnna Szekely; MS Student Council appointments to Beverly Gable and Pamela Niemann; Aultman Ambassadors Liza Meehl; and multiple other coaching, advisor and extracurricular roles as recorded in the minutes).
The board also approved mentor assignments for resident educators and designated a lead mentor; approved a salary increase for Tamara Wilson to MA+30 pending proper certification; approved the Rittman cross-country team’s travel to Kentucky on Sept. 19, 2025; and approved staff designated to administer medication during the school year. All Superintendent consent items were approved unanimously.
The minutes record that principals introduced new staff earlier in the meeting and provided updates on current events. The board adjourned after approving the consent agendas.
