Lindenhurst awards Grand Avenue sidewalk extension to Schroeder & Schroeder for $97,033

The Lindenhurst Village Board on March 8, 2021 unanimously approved awarding the Grand Avenue Sidewalk Extension Project to Schroeder & Schroeder of Skokie, Illinois, authorizing an amount not to exceed $97,033.13 to be paid from the Community Capital Fund.
Staff said the work will construct curb and sidewalk from the Emerald Ridge Subdivision west toward the Millennium Trail, responding to resident requests for a safer connection to the trail. The lowest responsive bid reported was $92,412.50; the board approved $97,033.13 to include a 5% contingency for unforeseen issues. Village staff noted the project has been programmed in the Community Capital budget for more than two years and the approved amount is below the $190,000 appropriation for the project.
Trustee Patty Chybowski moved and Trustee Dawn Suchy seconded the award; the roll-call vote was 6-0 in favor. Staff estimated construction would be completed in 30 to 45 days. No executive session was held on the item. The board directed staff to coordinate contract execution and provide status updates to the board.
