The Clearview Local Schools Board of Education entered executive session Dec. 8 at 7:10 p.m. under Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(1) to discuss personnel matters and complaints against an employee; Superintendent Dr. Davis and Treasurer Mary Ann Nowak attended, and no action was taken during the closed session.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the appointment of Michael Post as President Pro Tem under Resolution 2025-174. After exiting executive session at 7:46 p.m., the board adjourned the regular meeting at 7:47 p.m. (Resolutions 2025-177 and 2025-178). The minutes record the votes approving entry into executive session and the adjournment as unanimous.
Why it matters: Executive session under ORC 121.22(G)(1) allows boards to deliberate on sensitive personnel matters in private; the public record shows the statutory basis and that no action was taken while closed. The appointment of a president pro tem establishes temporary leadership for board business as recorded in the minutes.
Details: The motion to enter executive session was made pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(1) and included the Superintendent and Treasurer in attendance; the minutes expressly state no action was taken in executive session.
