Freehold Township Committee adopted its 2026 municipal budget during the April 28 meeting after a presentation by Township Administrator Mr. Valesi.
Mr. Valesi told the committee that the municipal government controls 13.8% of the overall municipal budget and that 2.3% is allocated for municipal open space, with the remainder funding schools and county services. The introduced budget covers infrastructure, public safety, health services and other municipal programs.
Mayor Preston opened the public hearing on the budget; there were no public comments. Committeeman Walker read Resolution R-26-68A and moved its adoption, seconded by Committeewoman Fasano. The motion passed with recorded ayes from Committeeman Ammiano, Committeewoman Fasano, Committeeman Walker and Mayor Preston; Committeeman Cook was absent.
The committee also read the budget by title as part of the meeting proceedings before adoption. The next public step identified by the committee is finalizing administrative steps to implement the adopted budget.
