At its June 12, 2025 meeting, the Bangor Area Stormwater Working Group (BASWG) recorded that DEP plans to begin field audits of MS4 permittees at the end of June and that a permit-fee increase has been signed into law setting the new annual invoice per MS4 at $1,306. The meeting minutes note no DEP staff attended despite a standing monthly invitation.
The minutes cite ISWG May meeting notes indicating the DEP will communicate scheduling through Holliday and that an additional desk audit is planned for Old Town to review annual reports and other documents at staff discretion. BASWG member Cara Belanger recorded that the group submitted a low-impact development (LID) comment to DEP.
Members discussed the administrative implications for permittees: on-site field visits could require permittees to prepare documentation and site access, and the desk audit may prompt additional record submissions. BASWG did not record any DEP representatives to provide further detail during the meeting; the group awaits direct communication from DEP staff for specific schedules and permittee lists.
The next BASWG meeting is scheduled for August 14, 2025; the minutes say members should expect DEP scheduling notices through Holliday ahead of field visits.
