Upper Hanover supervisors approve industrial subdivision, streambank stabilization and multiple contracts

The Upper Hanover Township Board of Supervisors on Feb. 13 approved a series of land-use actions, public-works contracts and administrative resolutions during a regular meeting in East Greenville.
The board adopted Resolution No. 2024-12 granting waiver and preliminary/final subdivision approval for the Kraussdale Industrial Project and Resolution No. 2024-13 granting waiver approval and conditional preliminary plan approval for a 249,760-square-foot warehouse. Both motions were moved and seconded and carried by a 5-0 vote.
The board also approved Resolution No. 2024-14 for the amended final plan of Geryville Self Storage, and authorized advertisement and a public hearing for the Upper Perkiomen Regional Comprehensive Plan update.
In infrastructure actions, the board accepted the township engineer’s recommendation to award the Perkiomen Creek (Camelot Park) streambank stabilization contract to Flyway Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $112,539.98 and approved Change Order #1 reducing the contract by $15,263.70; both motions passed 5-0. The Graber Road Project Payment Request #1 for $156,258.00 and a recommended Glenwood Chase escrow reduction of $244,439.55 were also approved unanimously. Supervisors authorized advertisement for general bridge maintenance bids, including repairs on St. Paul’s Church Road Bridge.
Township Manager Anne Klepfer presented several administrative resolutions that the board adopted 5-0: Resolution No. 2024-16 re-adopting the 2024 Employee Handbook; Resolution No. 2024-17 adopting the 2024 COVID sick-time policy; Resolution No. 2024-18 authorizing application for a MONTCO2040 grant for sediment removal under two township bridges; and Resolution No. 2024-19 authorizing a Greenlight Go grant application for a Kraussdale Road and Route 29 (Gravel Pike) traffic signal modernization project.
The board approved Payment Request #3 to Lenni Electric for the Geryville & Route 663 project in the amount of $202,351.53 and authorized Bowman Engineering to apply for a permit amendment to add three additional “No Turn on Red” signs at Route 663 and Geryville Pike as part of a change order; both actions passed 5-0.
On procurement, supervisors awarded: road materials to Highway Materials Inc.; equipment-with-operators items to Yarnall and Sacks and Sons; oil-and-chip and crack-sealing to AMS (seal coat at $4.33 per square yard; crack sealant at $26.11 per gallon); lawn care to Moyer Indoor Outdoor with Physio‑Cal application for $8,523; and propane supply to Eddinger (bidder-added margin $.54; sale price $1.43). All contract awards were approved 5-0.
