Woolwich Township on April 7 authorized up to $189,000 in additional compensation to Remington & Vernick Engineers to perform Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) analysis connected to emergency stormwater repairs on Oliphant’s Mill Road.
Mayor Matthias told the Committee that FEMA had provided a lump-sum payment to the Township but those funds had not been allocated to specific repair options. The H&H analysis will help the Township choose among three repair alternatives. Committeeman Frederick asked why Remington & Vernick’s quoted price had risen about 29 percent from an earlier estimate; CFO Lois Yarrington explained the cost increase to the Committee.
The Committee approved the authorization by roll call 4–0. The resolution notes the scope is to determine the most appropriate repair option and to support formal procurement and construction planning. The additional H&H work will inform whether federal funds can be applied to the selected option.
Next steps: Remington & Vernick will proceed with the H&H analysis and the Township will use the results to select and design the chosen repair option; procurement and construction will follow as authorized and funded.
