At its March 3 meeting the Mahtomedi City Council approved budget transfers to close several 2025 projects, authorized a write‑off of uncollectible ambulance receivables totaling $31,118.69 and approved a $10,000 grant agreement with the Rice Creek Watershed District for the Lost Lake/Wildwood Park Shoreline Restoration Phase 2 infiltration basin.
Finance Director Scott Schaefer told the council his department is in the middle of the 2025 audit and that Mahtomedi received the AFCR certificate for 2024. The write‑off of ambulance receivables was described as the result of exhausted collection efforts; the motion approved the write‑offs effective Dec. 31, 2025.
The budget transfers approved are intended to close the 2025 Street Improvement Projects, the CSAH 12 Phase 2 Project, the CSAH 12 Turnback Project, the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Project, and the Parking Lot and Trail Project, with an effective date of Dec. 31, 2025. The council approved these items as part of the consent agenda without separate discussion.
The Rice Creek Watershed District grant of $10,000 was approved to help cover the cost of an infiltration basin as part of the Lost Lake/Wildwood Park Shoreline Restoration Phase 2 Project; the motion to accept the grant was included in the consent agenda.
