President Mark Cattey reported that a drainage problem at the rear of the firehouse is being addressed and that a temporary downspout across the sidewalk did not resolve the issue.
Engineer Art Schmidt told members a written proposal to excavate the rear wall and install new drainage piping, priced at $9,500, had been submitted to the Fire Commissioners for consideration. The proposal is intended to remove standing water and prevent further damage to the building’s foundation and exterior.
Commissioner Fogarty told members the Fire Commissioners’ capital budget has been submitted to the town with no issues anticipated and reminded personnel to ensure required physical exams are up to date and that paperwork is submitted to qualify for the Pay per Call program.
