Woolwich introduces 10-year Comcast municipal consent ordinance; one abstention

Woolwich Township Committee introduced Ordinance 2025-09 to grant renewal of municipal consent to Comcast of South Jersey, LLC, to construct, connect, operate and maintain a cable-television and communications system in the Township.
Mayor Matthias gave a brief summary at the April 21 meeting, noting the municipal-consent renewal is a routine item introduced every ten years and is reviewed by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities prior to introduction. The motion to introduce the ordinance was moved and seconded; the roll-call introduction recorded Committeeman Frederick as abstaining while Committeewoman Minhas, Deputy Mayor Nocentino and Mayor Matthias voted in favor.
As an introductory vote, the measure advances the ordinance to subsequent steps required by state law and local ordinance for final adoption and BPU review. No final adoption occurred at the April 21 meeting.
