The Town of Acton Select Board voted unanimously July 24 to renew the liquor license for Iron Tails following municipal inspections that found no safety concerns.
At a public hearing opened by Select Board member David Winchell, the Town Administrator reported that the Fire Chief inspected the premises and raised no issues, the Code Enforcement Officer had no concerns, and the Sheriff’s Department’s call-list review produced no objections; the town said it had received no public emails about the renewal. Greg Martinez, who approached the board on behalf of Iron Tails, thanked members for their support and noted that two nearby events this weekend could create parking congestion; he said his staff will work to expedite parking to minimize conflicts. Martinez also told the board he has instituted a policy that bars customers from returning to the establishment if they were offered a ride home by staff or management and refused, a step he said is intended to protect drivers and community safety.
Tom McGurty moved to approve the liquor license effective July 24, 2024; Daniel Norwood seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board did not record roll-call votes; the motion was announced as "all in favor."
