At the Feb. 4 meeting Administrative Assistant Julie Ward presented a draft Sex Offender Ordinance. The board voted to increase the buffer from 750 feet to 1,000 feet from a property line; the motion (HF/AP) passed unanimously.
The board also reviewed a proposed fee schedule from Code Enforcement Officer Kate Matthews. The board approved a $300 Shoreland Zoning Planning Board fee (increasing from the proposed $100), approved $50 fees for Tree Application in Shoreland Zoning, E‑911 Address Assignment, and New Drive/Culvert Application, and approved a $15 per‑notified‑abutter fee. The board rejected a proposed $100 fee for interior structural renovation and rejected a $100 fee related to unvegetated surfaces within 250 feet of the normal high‑water line, saying such inspections should already occur in existing permit processes. The Accessory Dwelling Unit fee was rejected pending additional information.
Several fee items were tabled or left for further information, including a proposed FEMA permit fee. The board recorded votes on specific fee items with motions noted (RM/HF and RM/AP among others) and approved the abutter notification fee by motion.
Next steps: staff will provide further detail on tabled fees and the ADU fee, and the updated fee schedule will be implemented for the approved items.
