The Town of Acton Select Board discussed road projects, signed a state LRAP certification form and signed the Certificate of Assessment at its Aug. 28 meeting.
Road Commissioner Will Langley reported H Road is prepped for paving and that Allstate will perform grinding and paving in either the first or second week of September. Langley said a new tree contractor performed well on County Road and additional fall tree work is planned to enable spring paving on County Road. He told the Board that preventative maintenance such as crack sealing is not currently planned.
The Town Administrator presented the LRAP (Local Road Assistance Program) certification form showing last year’s LRAP funds at $67,764 and that Acton is earmarked to receive $60,528 this year; the form required the Select Board Chair’s signature and was signed at the meeting. The Administrator also summarized tax-bill details from the Certificate of Assessment and the Board signed that certificate; the Administrator said tax bills will hit mailboxes in about two weeks.
