The Town of Acton Select Board conducted routine business at its July 10 meeting, approving several motions and noting pending items.
Key actions: Select Board member Daniel Norwood moved and Edward Walsh seconded approval of the meeting agenda; the board voted unanimously to approve. Norwood then moved to approve the July 2 meeting minutes; Jon Denekamp seconded and the motion carried.
Select Board member David Winchell Jr. moved to approve the contract with contractor Curtis for demolition of the old firehouse/gym at the original bid amount; Edward Walsh seconded and the motion passed.
The board approved an abatement of $31.61 for Keith and Meta Cornish after staff reported they had been taxed on 60 feet of frontage instead of the correct 53 feet. Select Board member Thomas McGurty moved the abatement; Edward Walsh seconded and the motion carried.
The board entered executive session under M.R.S.A. 405(6)(A) for personnel at 6:55 p.m. on a motion by Daniel Norwood, seconded by Jon Denekamp, and exited at 7:17 p.m. on a subsequent motion by Norwood, seconded by Denekamp; both motions were approved. The meeting concluded after announcements; Thomas McGurty moved to adjourn and Daniel Norwood seconded.
