The Town of Acton Select Board approved a liquor license renewal for K.B. Restaurant Enterprises, Inc. (The Shed, also referred to as Willy’s) after holding a public hearing at its Aug. 28 meeting.
The Town Administrator presented the application and said the Code Officer reported no complaints and the Fire Chief’s walkthrough found no safety issues; sheriff’s call reports were shared with the Board. Daniel Norwood moved to close the public hearing; Ed Walsh seconded, and the motion carried.
David Winchell Jr. moved to approve the liquor license renewal; Tom McGurty seconded. The motion passed with all members voting in favor.
The Board also approved one-day catering liquor permits for Atwater Holdings, LLC for events at Everlee on Sept. 7 and Sept. 14; Tom McGurty moved and Daniel Norwood seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
Why it matters: The approvals permit continued alcohol service at The Shed and authorize two upcoming events at Everlee, while town staff confirmed there were no immediate code or fire-safety objections during their reviews.
The Board took no additional conditions on the renewal at the meeting; the licensing file will be updated consistent with the Select Board’s actions.
