Otisfield Select Board approves appointments, policies and warrant payment; schedules budget workshops

At its March 18 meeting the Select Board appointed ballot clerks, accepted an Appeals Board applicant, approved an updated Mailbox Damage Policy, approved a $1,500 water-quality funding allocation to be added to a conservation funding article, authorized payment of Warrant #27 and scheduled budget workshops and hearings.
The Otisfield Select Board at its March 18 meeting approved a slate of administrative measures including appointments, policy updates and a warrant payment.
The board voted unanimously to accept Mike Rowell's application to the Appeals Board (motion HF/FB-Unanimous) and to sign the recommended ballot-clerk appointments for two-year terms (motion AP/HF-Unanimous). Administrative Assistant Julie Ward also presented an updated Mailbox Damage Policy; the board approved the policy (BB/FB-Unanimous). Ward announced that the town's MMA Property and Casualty insurance renewal materials will be filed by March 27 and that auditing RFPs are due on Monday with bids opened at the next Select Board meeting.
Diane Tilkemeier requested $1,500 to cover water quality testing performed on behalf of the Moose Pond Association; the board voted to add that amount to an article funding TLEA and the Pleasant Lake/Parker Pond Association (HF/RM-Unanimous). The board voted to pay Warrant #27 (HF/AP-Unanimous) and reviewed a proposed Incident/Accident Report Policy presented by Brendan Bedell, which the board will consider for a future vote.
Other administrative notes: Ward displayed a commemorative plaque donated for the town pavilion, inscribed: "In remembrance, this pavilion is made possible in part through a gift from the family of Tony and Sandy Jordan, in loving memory of their lifelong service and devotion to the town of Otisfield and the community they called home." The board scheduled a budget workshop for May 7 at 6:30 p.m., a joint Select Board and Finance Committee meeting for May 21 at 6:30 p.m., and a public hearing on May 28 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:51 p.m.
