South Bloomfield council approves a slate of routine resolutions and an emergency fund transfer

At its June 17 meeting the South Bloomfield Village Council approved multiple second- and third-reading resolutions, appointed a RITA representative and passed an emergency ordinance advancing funds to the Criminal Justice Grant Fund. All recorded votes were unanimous.
Councilmembers in South Bloomfield approved several routine items and an emergency fund transfer at their June 17 meeting.
At the start of the meeting Mayor Aaron Thomas and council members unanimously approved the meeting agenda and later voted to waive readings and approve minutes from prior meetings. During unfinished business the council approved Resolution 2024-07 to appoint Alisha Burke as the village RITA representative; Amber Murphy moved the third reading and Ken Everts seconded the motion, which carried on a recorded unanimous vote.
On the consent side the council approved the second reading of Resolution 2024-08 (Solid Waste Authority agreement) and third readings of Resolution 2024-09 (GO‑HR employee engagement survey) and Resolution 2024-10 (county 911 plan); each motion passed with the recorded votes entered into the minutes.
In new business the council introduced Ordinance 2024-09 to advance funds from the General Fund to the Criminal Justice Grant Fund. Amber Murphy moved to approve first reading; after a separate motion to waive the second and third readings the council passed the ordinance as an emergency. The motion to pass as an emergency was seconded by Ken Everts and carried on a recorded unanimous vote.
