During its Jan. 21 meeting, the Otisfield Select Board addressed several administrative and procedural items, including foreclosure steps, an as‑is sale motion for the Jalbert property, an appointment to the Finance Committee and routine warrant approval.
Administrative Assistant Julie Ward reported that 45-day pending foreclosure notices were sent. After consulting MMA Legal and the Town Attorney about the Jalbert property, Ward said 30-day notices, a lien certificate and an impending foreclosure notice will be sent to the heirs identified in the town’s records; Chairman Hal Ferguson suggested the town contact a realtor. The board then approved a motion to sell the Jalbert property as-is, with a restriction on how much time the buyer has to clean up the property (motion HF/FB, unanimous).
On other actions, the board voted unanimously to accept Brett Burwell’s application to the Finance Committee (motion HF/BB) and to pay Warrant #21 (motion HF/AP). Julie Ward also told the board the town’s new website is scheduled to launch Feb. 10.
These votes were recorded as unanimous in the meeting minutes. The minutes do not provide purchaser details for the Jalbert property sale, nor do they record specific cleanup time limits beyond the board’s direction to include a restriction.
