Otisfield reports solar array online; Resilience Committee grants complete, town to receive funds

At the Jan. 21 meeting, the Resilience Committee provided updates on completed grants and the town’s new solar array.
Maureen Howard told the board that the committee’s four grants have been completed and that a fifth grant application, submitted in August, has not yet received a status update. She said invoices related to the fire station grant have been settled and that almost all federal solar grant funds were expended; small unspent balances—$3.60 and $29.18 in two grants—were returned or remain minor.
Darryl Johnson presented photographs of the recently completed solar array, which became operational on Dec. 11. Johnson said the installation has produced savings of more than $6,500 in Central Maine Power (CMP) charges to date and that the town expects a check for $99,970.82. The meeting minutes state those savings will be placed into the town’s Energy Fund for future energy-related initiatives.
Board members noted the accomplishments and that the Resilience Committee and its partners should be recognized in the Town Report. No additional board action was recorded beyond the update and recognition requests.
