Treasurer Adam Kearney Schlantz and director Diane Edward told the committee the library added roughly 130–150 new patrons, increased circulation and expanded from two to 14 programs last year; volunteers grew by 11 to a total of 34. The operational request covers increased program stipends, utilities and other inflationary pressures. The capital request ($8,000) is intended for ongoing building maintenance and to begin saving toward larger projects such as eventual heat-pump replacement projected in the early 2030s.
Committee members asked for clarifications on a few line items (cataloging subscription and projected income) and trustees agreed to correct a couple of typographical errors in the submitted schedules before final budget documents. The committee recommended both the operational ($45,000) and capital ($8,000) requests by unanimous vote.
Next steps: trustees will provide corrected line-item detail for the committee record and the amounts will be included in the FY27 recommendation package.
