The Thayne Town Council on Aug. 18 opened a public hearing on a proposed zoning change that would reclassify lots #1–#7 of the Paul Addition from C-2 Heavy Commercial to AR-2 Agricultural Residential/Duplex and consider a lot-size variance. Mayor Devin Simpson presented a map of the area and acknowledged receipt of letters from Cindy Jaques and Christy Coleman. No members of the public spoke at the hearing, which opened at 6:02 p.m. and closed at 6:03 p.m.
After no questions or comments, Councilman Woolley moved and Councilwoman Passey seconded approval of Ordinance 366 on first reading; the motion carried. The record does not show a roll-call vote or amendments. The ordinance will proceed to subsequent readings as required by municipal procedure.
