South Heidelberg accepts officer resignation and promotes probationary officer

Officer Sholedice notified the township he had been promoted within the Reading Police Department and, due to his command-duty status there, could no longer fill part-time opportunities with the South Heidelberg Police Department; the board unanimously accepted his resignation.
The board unanimously authorized promotion of Kevin Ebersole from probationary officer to Police Officer I, effective Jan. 10, 2026. The promotion was recorded as conditioned on the township maintaining existing police services contracts with Wernersville Borough, Robesonia Borough and Heidelberg Township.
The actions were approved unanimously. The board did not record additional discussion in the meeting minutes.
