Lebanon Township adopts 2023 municipal budget; one committee member votes no

The Lebanon Township Committee adopted its 2023 municipal budget following a public hearing on May 3.
Committeeman Mike Schmidt told residents that the municipality undergoes a Division of Local Government Services budget review every three years and that “the State required a few changes to be made to the budget,” adding that those changes did not affect the tax rate or alter spending on any line item. After public questions about line items, the committee closed the hearing and voted to adopt the budget.
The committee first approved Resolution 56a-2023 to permit the budget to be read by title only, then adopted an amended approved budget (Resolution 56b-2023). The final adoption vote on the 2023 municipal budget was Ayes: Mike Schmidt, Thomas McKee, Abe Abuchowski and Mayor Beverly Koehler; Nay: Brian Wunder.
The adoption completes the town’s formal budget process for 2023 after state-required adjustments; the committee did not identify any change to the municipal tax rate for the year.
