Housing advisory board asks county for $55,000 to continue housing coordinator; board to issue RFP

Don Conklin, representing the Housing Advisory Board, asked Madison County commissioners to continue funding for a housing coordinator position at $55,000 for the coming year, the same amount the county provided during the prior two years.
Conklin said the housing coordinator has helped advance projects including Twin Bridges and a CDBG application. Commissioners responded that procuring a new contract requires issuing an RFP because the prior contract was with another partner organization (Nurmed) and that staff should publish an RFP to allow proposals. The board agreed to return with an RFP to the next Tuesday meeting to begin the procurement process.
No funding appropriation was made during the work session; the RFP process will determine the contracting path once responses are received and evaluated.
