Acton Select Board appoints Amy Merrow to Cemetery Committee, advertises sand bid

At its Sept. 4 meeting the Town of Acton Select Board appointed Amy Merrow to the Cemetery Committee through June 30, 2025.
Jon Denekamp moved to appoint Merrow and Ed Walsh seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Denekamp had earlier said he met a potential Cemetery Committee member and recommended the appointment.
The board also placed the Moose Pond boat-access item on hold (tabled) and authorized the Road Commissioner’s request to advertise a sand bid. The sand solicitation asks for bids for up to 3,000 yards of 3/8" screened winter sand, to be delivered to 890 Sanborn Road; returns are due Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024. The bid asks vendors to state the per-yard delivered price and whether they maintain year-round business hours outside routine weekends and holidays.
No further actions were taken on Moose Pond or the sand bid at this meeting; staff will post the solicitation and return results to the board for review in coming weeks.
