Mendota council approves $1.01 million in warrants, community center design contract and staffing change

The Mendota City Council unanimously approved its consent calendar on Aug. 20, 2024, covering operating warrants, consultant agreements, personnel changes and a contract for community center design.
The warrant list (check nos. 55120–55216) totaled $1,011,073.35 and was approved as part of the consent calendar. The Council also adopted Resolution No. 24-44 to approve a consultant services agreement with Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group for ongoing website management services.
Resolution No. 2445 was approved to accept the proposal from Gerald Mele & Associates, Inc. for architectural and engineering services for the Mendota Community Center project, and the City Manager was authorized to execute the necessary documents. The City Manager noted an updated contract had been distributed to Council for this item.
Council also adopted Resolution No. 24-46 to create the Assistant Public Works Director position with an accompanying job description and salary schedule, and Resolution No. 24-47 to amend the City Manager's employment contract. Council Member Oscar Rosales moved to approve items 1–6 on the consent calendar; Council Member Jose Alonso seconded; the motion passed unanimously (5 ayes).
No separate public comment was received on these consent items at the time of adoption.
