Thayne approves pay request and awards street-reconstruction bid; booster-pump loan documents authorized

The Thayne Town Council approved several infrastructure items at its June 16 meeting, authorizing a contractor pay request, awarding a street-reconstruction contract, and allowing the mayor to sign state loan documents for a water project.
Sunrise Engineering told the council the Community Center parking improvements are complete except the north-lot paving; Avail Valley Construction has submitted pay request #2 for $128,541.82. Councilwoman Passey moved to approve the pay request; the motion carried.
The council also addressed the Van Noy Street paving and drainage project. The meeting packet listed HK Contractors as the low bidder at $225,386.00, and the council moved to approve a bid of $255,386.00 from HK Contractors for the VanNoy Parkway Reconstruction Project; the motion carried. The packet notes remaining TAP-project work includes light-pole installation, electrical work and crosswalk striping and signage on VanNoy and Dana streets.
For water infrastructure, the council was told the Meadows Booster Pump Project Part II application was approved and that the project carries a 50/50 forgiveness structure. The council authorized Mayor Simpson to sign the DWSRF #241 loan documents so the project may proceed.
