Marshall County commissioners moved through several routine items including approval of minutes and claims, personnel appointments and a wage recommendation to the county council.
The board approved the June 1, 2026 meeting minutes and voted to approve accounts payable and payroll claims as presented. The board appointed Kelly Einspar to fill the remainder of a term on the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals through the end of 2027, following a recommendation from Assessor Peter Paul.
Commissioners also voted to extend an offer of employment to Bill Einar to fill the county's weights and measures position and allocated $5,000 to allow Einar to train alongside the retiring incumbent.
On compensation, the board voted to recommend a 3% wage increase for county employees to the county council for the next fiscal year; commissioners noted comparative actions by neighboring jurisdictions and discussed insurance contribution trends.
Separately, the board approved a one-year backup contract for election-board legal services with attorney Tony Wagner should the county attorney have a conflict, and authorized the president to sign a broker information-release form for insurance-market evaluation (aggregate data only).
