Select Board approves committee appointments, authorizes wildfire RFP and hires full‑time fire/EMS staff

The Select Board approved a slate of committee appointments and routine municipal business at its March 25 meeting. Members appointed multiple residents to the Community Wildfire Protection Plan Committee and appointed Roland Bisson to the Town Lands Management Committee.
The board authorized the town administrator to post a request for proposals to support the Wildfire Protection Plan work associated with a grant the committee is administering. The administrator said the grant had been received and the RFP is the next step in spending those funds.
Staffing and administrative items included motions to sign payroll and accounts payable warrants and to sign municipal officer certificates; all motions were moved, seconded and passed as recorded in the meeting. After an executive session held under 1 M.R.S.A. §405(6)(A) (personnel) and §405(6)(C) (real property), the board returned to open session and voted to hire Nathaniel (Nate) Keller for a full‑time position in the fire/EMS department. The board welcomed Keller and completed the hiring vote on the record.
The board scheduled community outreach related to the Phippsburg Elementary discussion and confirmed several upcoming meetings and public events, including a town cleanup on April 25 and a Wildfire Protection Plan community meeting on May 30.
