Marshall County Museum reports visitor and volunteer growth, introduces new assistant director

Sandy Garrison, director of the Marshall County Museum, told commissioners the museum has welcomed nearly 2,000 visitors in the first six months of the year and logged more than 1,500 volunteer hours.
Garrison introduced Iris Fry as the museum's new assistant director and credited staff and volunteers with expanding programming. Garrison said the museum has seen roughly 500,000 views across social media platforms since January and that the Brown Bag lunch and lecture series—part of an America 250 theme—has drawn standing-room attendance.
Garrison noted ABC Channel 7 recently filmed at the museum for an upcoming special on veterans that is scheduled to air July 7. She also recommended a documentary about northern marshlands that relates to county history and invited commissioners to visit the museum.
Commissioners praised staff work and programming and asked about social-media staffing; Garrison said a staff member handles social media and that communications work is coordinated across several employees.
